In this guide, we show system administrators how to set up workflows to detect errors in Sage X3 query management. These workflows send email notifications with log files whenever issues arise within the Stock Accounting Interface or the WIP (Work In Progress) Accounting Interface. These issues commonly result from integration conflicts or operator queries that impact other Sage X3 operations.
Implementing this workflow can enable system administrators to receive immediate alerts about potential issues, thereby enabling faster resolution and minimizing downtime. The detailed log files from these workflows provide improved visibility into query management, helping to pinpoint root causes and prevent future problems. It also provides proactive error detection which ensures that your Sage X3 system runs smoothly, to avoid disruptions and maintain enhanced system performance.
Required:
- System Administrator Permissions
Steps to Follow:
Step 1. Enable Email Notification for Existing Task
1. Navigate to Usage > Batch Server > Task Management.
2. Locate the specific task you want to trigger email notifications for.
3. Select the task and tick the checkbox labeled “Message-User”: This instructs the task to generate an email notification when it runs.
Step 2: Create the Email Notification
1. Go to Setup > Workflow > Notification.
2. Click “Create” to define a new notification.
3. Configure the notification details, including:
- Active: Ensure the checkbox is ticked to activate the notification.
- Event Type: Choose “Object” for task-related notifications.
- Event Code: Select “AIMP” (Processing Function) for tasks.
- Operation: Specify “Modification” to trigger the email upon task completion.
- Subject: Craft a clear and informative subject line for the email.
- Message: Design the email body content with relevant task details.
4. Save and Validate the notification.
By implementing these workflows, system administrators can gain a proactive edge in managing Stock and WIP interfaces in Sage X3. This not only streamlines error detection but also helps maintain optimal system performance.
